Maiden Orumogege Football Competition: Details emerge – number of participating teams, start date, prizes

The maiden Orumogege Football Competition being put together by Ogbomoso Community Youth Forum (OCYF) will begin on September 8, it has been disclosed.
The tournament for clubs in the five local governments and LCDAs in Ogbomoso zone of Oyo state aimed to promote football development in Ogbomoso according to the organizers will involve the first 32 clubs that registered.
The format will be on knockout basis with the final scheduled for later in the year, it was further revealed during a press conference Tuesday addressed by the chairman organizing committee, Mr. Amos Ado, at Ogbomoso Recreation Club.
The competition in honour of the Soun of Ogbomosoland Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, with the start date coinciding with the date of his installation last year has cash prizes and other gift items awaiting winners while involvement of sponsors and partners is solicited, it was stated.

The opening ceremony and kickoff are scheduled for September 8, 2024, concluding on December 26, 2024. The competition is open to all age groups, and participants will have the chance to win cash prizes and gifts, with additional awards for various categories.”
