The Oyo state Commissioner for Information Prince Dotun Oyelade has alleged the All Progressives Congress (APC) of trying to poach members of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) through financial inducement, however asserting not everyone could be bought.
Prince Oyelade made this allegation in a press statement he issued Thursday citing personal example of how an attempt was made to induce him.
He consequently advised APC to stop dissipating energy on trying to poach him from his party.

Specifically, the Commissioner referred to a telephone call put through to him last Thursday evening by the Director General of the APC Gubernatorial Campaign Council Hon Yemi Aderibigbe and two other members, Messrs Sina Alabi and Sola Ogunbode, whom he alleged of putting calls to him seeking appointment with him for “an urgent discussion.”
The Ogbomoso-born politician said that as much as he respects the personalities and their political tendency, it is important to discourage the gentlemen from raising the hopes of their camp about ‘catching another big fish’.

“Apparently bolstered by their successes in sucking a few politicians to their fold, they should have known that this attempt will be a long shot.”
He added, “We in the Seyi Makinde/Adekanmbi political group are not up for grabs and will not be enticed or intimidated by financial inducement.”
According to the Commissioner, it is all about service and spartan living and effective governance. He said for two years cabinet members and many political office holders worked without official vehicles and other associated privileges because we were convinced about what Governor Makinde was doing with the state’s money.

Prince Oyelade advised the opposition not to throw money at every challenge or go with the impression that everybody has his price because if that is true, then the masses will suffer for it.
“It is with this mindset that I publicly decline any meeting with the opposition unless the sole objective is to join the Seyi Makinde/Bimbo Adekanmbi winning team,” he declared.
