Genesis Centre lauds establishment of medical lab services dept by Oyo govt, congratulates pioneer director, Adegoke

The management and staff of Genesis Medical Diagnostics Centre, Ogbomoso, Oyo state, has lauded the establishment of the Medical Laboratory Services under the Ministry of Health by the Oyo state government, just as it congratulated Mr. K.A. Adegoke and Mrs. F. A. Adedapo-Ismail, who got appointed as pioneer director and deputy director respectively.

This is contained in a press statement personally signed by Prince Victor Oyetayo Olawuyi, Chief Executive Officer and Lead Consultant of Genesis Medical Diagnostic Centre.

 

Prince Olawuyi described the development as “a defining moment for laboratory medicine and diagnostic governance in the state,” noting ”the emergence of a structured leadership team reflects a deliberate step toward strengthening diagnostic services across Oyo state.”

Olawuyi further stated, “The establishment of a standalone Directorate of Medical Laboratory Services within the Oyo State Ministry of Health represents a significant policy advancement, formally recognizing the central role of diagnostics in effective healthcare delivery, disease surveillance, treatment monitoring, and public health system strengthening.

 

“As the pioneer Director, Mr. Adegoke is entrusted with the foundational responsibility of setting regulatory direction, professional standards, quality assurance frameworks, and strategic priorities for medical laboratory services across the state.”

He added that the appointment was well deserved taking account of the past contributions of the new director to advancing medical laboratory services just as he noted the new direction would enhance diagnostic services in the face of emerging trends in the sector.

 

“The appointment is a proud and well-deserved reward for years of consistency, hard work, and professional integrity within the medical laboratory profession. Furthermore, the timing of the appointments is particularly strategic, given the increasing diagnostic demands arising from emerging infectious diseases, the growing burden of non-communicable diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and the need for reliable laboratory data to support evidence-based clinical and public health decision-making.”

According to Olawuyi, “strong laboratory systems remain the backbone of functional healthcare systems,” stressing that “no meaningful health reform can succeed without accurate, accessible, and quality-assured diagnostic services.

 

“The creation of the Directorate presents an opportunity to reposition medical laboratory services from a traditionally supportive role to a central pillar of healthcare delivery.”

He expressed confidence that “the new Directorate, under the leadership of Mr. Adegoke and supported by Mrs. Adedapo-Ismail, would bring clarity, strength, and measurable progress to the governance and delivery of laboratory services in Oyo State.”
