The drive for economic growth in Ogbomoso Oyo state will receive further boost on August 30 as land allocation for shops and stalls will commence at the newly inaugurated Aaje-Ologo Community Wazobia Market (ACWM), Aaje Ologo in Ogbomoso North.

 

According to a release by the Baale of Aaje-Ologo High Chief Reuben Adesina Amao JP (DSS Dir rtd), over 100 persons had collected forms for allocation of land space, saying the forms are being sorted on the basis of preference for items to be sold.

“Be informed that allocation of stalls commences on 30/08/25 at 10am at the White Star Hall in the Aaje Ologo Palace,” the release notes.

 

The exercise it’s disclosed would be preceded by a lecture which will highlight the goal, focus and direction of the market, maintaining that the “economic drive of the Soun of Ogbomosoland His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III encapsulated in his 25 year-development plan is one of the impetuses for the project.”

“Market growth is crucial in attaining economic buoyancy in any community and since we have the produce, establishing markets near point of production is strategic as this will maintain the freshness of the farm produce and reduce prices since cost of transportation will be reduced.”

 

The former DSS director assured goods would be sold at reduced prices in the Aaje Ologo Wazobia Market. “Everything will be committed to make it a thriving popular market. Vegetables, maize, yam, cassava, beans, soya beans, livestock animals and so on will be sold in the market. We will build it in steadfast hope and unwavering determination and we will be patient,” he added.

It is also stated that since Aaje Ologo is a community with history of support for widows, orphans and the vulnerable, “preference would be given to widows, widowers and father/motherless and orphans.”

 

Recall the community is also pushing for the establishment of a government public secondary school.
