”In a bold move to protect the health of our people, Genesis Medical Diagnostics Centre is offering Free Hepatitis B & C Screening for every resident of Ogbomosoland — from the heart of the city to the most remote villages.”

It affirms, “Hepatitis: The Danger You Don’t See Until It’s Too Late. Hepatitis B and C are deadly liver infections that often show no symptoms until major damage has occurred — including liver failure, cirrhosis, or cancer. Millions live with the virus unknowingly, spreading it silently within families, schools, workplaces, and religious centres.”

The release signed by the CEO of the medical lab, Prince Victor Oyetayo Olawuyi, added that the risk factors of the deadly disease are greater in Ogbomoso giving reasons for this.

“In our community, the risk is even greater due to: low awareness, limited access to screening, stigma and myths about the disease.”

It is stated however it’s preventable and manageable if detected early and treated promptly stressing it is potent in its destructive nature.

“This is a disease that can destroy families, futures, and generations — and yet, it’s preventable and manageable if detected early,” observes Olawuyi Victor Oyetayo, CEO and Lead Consults of Genesis Medical Diagnostics Centre.

“We are not waiting for people to come to the city. We are bringing this test to the grassroots, free of charge, because our people deserve to live healthy lives no matter where they live or what they earn.”

The screening he disclosed would be held at the diagnostic centre, beside Alapo Evergreen Hotel, Starlight Area, Ogbomoso, from 8:00 on the day, Monday, July 28, 2025.

He maintains screening for infection is important because “You could be infected and not know it — symptoms may take years to appear. Hepatitis is easily transmitted through blood, childbirth, unsterile tools, and sex.”

“Yet it’s preventable, treatable — even curable if detected early. Screening is fast, simple, and free — no needles, no pain, no shame. It’s your right — and your responsibility.”

Expressing desire to have a community free of hepatitis, Olawuyi discloses the Lab’s initiative towards this goal, as he extends invitation to the people to join the movement.

“Join the movement for a hepatitis-free Ogbomoso. This initiative is part of Genesis Medical Diagnostics Centre’s unwavering commitment to community health and social responsibility. As a proudly indigenous medical brand, we are bridging the gap between urban and rural care with affordable and reliable diagnostics.
