Ogbomoso is our Mecca, Jerusalem and Ile-Ife – Let’s seek its good always

These three great cities are reverenced by the adherents of these three religions – Islam, Christianity and African Traditional Religion such that they never prayed for their disintegration or destruction. So, we Ogbomoso indigenes see Ogbomoso as such, and we never prayed for her disintegration or destruction.

The present internal problem that Ogbomoso is facing will soon fizzle out and normalcy shall return as ever before. Greater incidents had happened in the history of the town, and victory ended it; the saying, “Ogun o ja ja ko Ogbomoso ri, adenu, oko asimi,” is instructive here. We shall overcome this travail too soonest Insah Allah and by His grace, by the name of Ogunlola, the first Soun and other ancestors. Amin. Amen. Aroyoromo.

The need why we must all come out to defend Ogbomoso from disintegration and war drums that the enemies of the town are drumming is that Ogbomoso is our Mecca, the monarch should be respected, being paramount. The Prophet Mohammed that we Muslim faithful reverence, respected kings during his life time and our Holy book says Allah asks us to give honours to kings for they are His representatives on earth. Similarly, the Christians reverence Jerusalem and even perform Holy pilgrimage to Jerusalem as a sign of piety. While their Holy book, the Bible commands them to seek for peace and blessings for Jerusalem. Further, the African Traditional Religion worshippers reverence Ile-Ife as the cradle of civilization and call it ‘the Source,’ where all human beings originated!

All these reverences are cited to seek for public enlightenment on the Ogbomoso issue. We must speak the truth without fear of intimidations and threats of arrest by enemies of the town. We must call a spade a spade and not working implements. Why this noise now? The matter is in the court why the distractions. People are free to relay evidences and enlighten people on the issue, for information is vital, correct information for that matter. Many people are misled for they don’t know the genesis of the matter, which include petty jeolusy, religion fanatism and lack of readiness to embrace change whereas the only permanent thing in nature is change! So, l am appealing for peace. Let us allow the court to do their work. Ogbomoso is one under Oba Ghandi and it shall never be disintegrated Insah Allah. Aamin.
