Members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) under the leadership of Iba Gani Adams, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, have apprehended nothing less than three suspected Fulani kidnappers at the Old Oyo National Park in Oyo state.

According to a report by Kehinde Zaccheus, OPC coordinator, Arigidana, Eseke, in Oriire, the suspects specifically were picked up at different times by a patrol team of the organization at Eseke in Oriire local government area (one suspect) and at Igbeti, Olorunsogo local government area (two), and the suspects were reportedly in possession of sophisticated rifles.

Upon arrests, the suspects were handed over to the police at Ikoyi-Ile and Igbeti respectively, for further investigations.

The suspects were allegedly terrorising communities in the area before the OPC successfully tracked and captured them.

Ogbomoso Insight Online recalls the Old Oyo National Park with its large land coverage is being targeted by bandits to penetrate and perpetrate their evil acts of kidnapping and other criminal activities. The abduction of school teachers and students/pupils in May this year was a turning point however, as conventional and non-conventional security agents have beefed up security in the area.
