Tinubu allegedly meets Buhari: Mr. President, begin execution of road projects awarded us before talking of mobilising us for you

News of the meeting between President Bola Tinubu and Senator Fatai Buhari last Friday was all over the social media Saturday in which the Commander – in – Chief allegedly urged the senator currently representing Oyo North, Fatai Buhari, to help in mobilizing the people of the district especially, and Oyo state indigenes in general for his re-election and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the 2027 general elections.

The President must have perceived the three-term senator was non-committal having lost out “unfairly” in the race to get the guber ticket of the APC. Obviously, Buhari has been quiet though he is believed to have the magic wand in the district. Tinubu being a strategist, and a calculative political warlord he is, moved to poach Buhari.

But what he also needs to see to, beyond activating Buhari is facilitating the execution of projects approved for the district. Ogbomoso, a vital corridor in the district, boasting the second largest voting strength in the state, very dear to her people are the road projects recently approved in their areas, including the Ogbomoso – Igbeti road, (dualization of) Ogbomoso major trunk A road within the metropolis to Ilorin, Idi/Araba – Ayede – Oolo road, Ogbomoso – Oko – Ilobu road among others. There is also the 132KV power substation that is yet to be completed though its start date was over 20 years ago. Furthermore, we have the Nigerian Academy of Cultural Studies (NACUS), Ogbomoso campus; the Police Secondary School, Odanbon; Mother and Child Hospital, Pakiotan, water project, all needing springing to life; and pronouncing the status of the army presence at Oriire local government among others, all which the federal government needs to act and expedite action on.

The people of the district particularly Ogbomoso axis needs no one to mobilise them if their desires in those itemized areas are met forthwith. The people are thankful for the Ogbomoso – Oyo axis of the new Ibadan-Ilorin highway though its deadline for completion has exceeded two months. But forward they yearn for. Its sons and daughters are making important contributions to this administration in different capacities; it is not too much for Mr. President to reward them accordingly with concrete infrastructure additions in their communities. This will make it easy for its men like Senator Buhari to mobilize the people to the President’s cause. This will assuage the hardship arising from subsidy removal.

Mr. President, please take note.
