Ogbomoso Oyo state appears to be presently witnessing a recess in terms of activities.

Meanwhile, findings by ogbomosoinsightonline.com reveals this is not unconnected with the absence of the monarch of the town, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, at home. The traditional ruler is presently on a vacation in the United States of America, where he resided as a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and business executive for decades before ascending the throne of his forefathers.

Rev’d Peter Olaleye, the Oba’s Special Assistant on Media and Community Relations, confirmed “His Majesty is visiting the United States of America where he would be meeting sons daughters of Ogbomosoland for engagement on the upcoming Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival and other developmental projects. He will be in North America and other European countries to meet his subjects. The Ogbomoso people in the diaspora, the Oba has repeatedly said, are a critical group in his ambitious 25 year-development plan conceptualised to transform Ogbomosoland.”

Ogbomoso Insight has observed that anytime the paramount ruler is around, Ogbomoso often witnesses a lot of activities inspired by him, ranging from projects commissioning, engagement with the people at the grassroots, holding critical stakeholders’ meetings, hosting investors, and other high valued guests and agencies, attending foundation laying ceremonies, hosting seminars/workshops and so on.

“Yes, Kabiyesi has been a pivot of development but he will soon return to resume his developmental strides,” Olaleye added. “However, even in his absence, a lot are going on, which are gradually transforming Ogbomoso zone. While he is away, the Areago High Chief Sobalaje Otolorin commissioned the Fedegbo Mega Aso-Ofi Weaving Centre, which is the first of its kind in Oyo state, also some other transformative programmes and projects have been activated, on September 9, the much anticipated education summit which will deliberate on the future of education in Ogbomosoland will be hosted – this will also witness launch of education trust fund. And in October, Ogbomoso Economic Summit and Exhibition event will be hosted. Also, the various committees of the 25 year-development agenda are not idle, they are seriously working to deliver on their mandates. Ogbomoso will be transformed by God’s grace in line with the aspiration of His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye.”
