Meanwhile, Ogbomoso Insight has learnt that the project remaining in Fapote actually had the imprimatur of the Soun of Ogbomosoland His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III.

According to sources, the chief coordinator of the programme, Prof Oyebanji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka, a foremost scholar specialising in industrial and technological development, put a call through to the Ogbomoso paramount ruler “If he supported the choice of Fapote as the location for the programme, to which Kabiyesi responded in the affirmative.”

“I have a relationship with the traditional ruler of Fapote, there is no problem with siting such project there,” the Soun reportedly said.

A reliable source in the palace of Soun confirmed this, positing, “If Oba Ghandi had objected perhaps another location would have been sought.”
