Soun reassures on scholarship for 5 best performers in JAMB, to host 30 best to dinner

The Soun of Ogbomosoland His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III has urged candidates who scored more than 300 in the 2026 JAMB to upload their scores to a portal for verification.

This according to the monarch would enable his team to select students with the 30 best results in Ogbomoso zone whom he would host to a dinner and from among whom the best five would be selected for university scholarship.

He reiterated his commitment to excellence reaffirming his belief in a future driven by education.

The Oba since coming on the throne had identified education as pivotal in creating a greater future for Ogbomoso and had promised to yearly offer scholarships to best performers in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a post on his verified Facebook page, titled, “A heartfelt appreciation to our Jambite candidates,” Oba Ghandi notes, “My dear sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland, I extend my warmest congratulations to each and every one of you on the successful completion of your JAMB examinations. Your dedication, discipline, and resilience throughout this period have truly been commendable. You have made us all proud.”

Continuing he states, “As a community deeply committed to excellence and a future driven by knowledge, we celebrate not just your efforts but also the determination, courage, and excellence you have demonstrated along the way.

“I am especially delighted to invite students who scored 300 and above to kindly submit their results through the link below. This initiative forms part of our ongoing commitment to recognize, encourage, and celebrate exceptional academic achievement within Ogbomosoland.”

Making further clarifications, the Oba said, “From the submissions received, the top five outstanding candidates will be selected and awarded scholarships in recognition of their exceptional performance and as an investment in their bright future.”

In an earlier post likewise he submitted, “Education remains one of the strongest pillars upon which we are building a greater Ogbomosoland. And you, our dear students, are at the very center of that vision. Your success is not just personal but rather the foundation of the progress we seek as a people.”

“It also gives me great joy to announce that we will be hosting a special dinner in honor of the top 30 highest-performing students in this year’s JAMB across Ogbomosoland. This is our way of celebrating excellence, rewarding hard work, and inspiring a culture of achievement among our young people. I look forward to personally meeting and celebrating you. Always remember: you are the future we are waiting for, and your success is our shared pride.”

The paramount ruler concluded by encouraging the students not to relent regardless of their performance in this year’s UTME. “Please note, however, that regardless of your score, your effort remains worthy of praise. This examination is only one step in a much greater journey ahead. Keep striving, keep growing, and continue to believe in the greatness within you.”
