Today, we celebrate not merely the return of our children and educators, but the triumph of hope over fear and unity over despair. Every child deserves to learn in safety, and every teacher deserves to carry out their noble duty without the constant threat of violence.

On behalf of my family, associates, and concerned citizens of Ogbomosoland, I express profound gratitude to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the federal government’s commitment to addressing insecurity. I also commend the Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his concern and support throughout this difficult period.

Our appreciation equally goes to the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Amotekun Corps, local vigilante groups, traditional institutions, community leaders, volunteers, and every individual who contributed, whether publicly or quietly, to the safe return of these innocent citizens. Your courage, professionalism, sacrifices, and unwavering dedication deserve the gratitude of the nation.

We must also acknowledge the resilience of the affected families, who endured days of uncertainty with remarkable faith and courage. Their perseverance reminds us of the strength that exists within our communities even during the darkest moments.

While we celebrate this happy ending, we must not become complacent. This incident should strengthen our collective resolve to improve intelligence gathering, enhance community policing, secure our schools, strengthen rural security architecture, and invest more in preventive measures that protect lives before tragedies occur. The safety of our children must remain a national priority, not merely a reaction after unfortunate events.

As a community leader and advocate for youth development, I believe that national security extends beyond weapons and uniforms. It includes investing in education, responsible parenting, youth mentorship, economic opportunities, moral values, and community engagement. A society that protects its children today secures its future tomorrow.

The successful return of these students and teachers should therefore become a symbol of renewed national commitment to safeguarding every Nigerian child, regardless of location or circumstance.

May the Almighty continue to protect our security personnel as they discharge their constitutional responsibilities. May He comfort every family that has experienced the pain of insecurity, and may He grant our nation enduring peace, justice, unity, and prosperity.

Congratulations to the families. Congratulations to Ogbomosoland. Congratulations to Oyo State. Congratulations to Nigeria.
