Confirming the arrest, he said the security agents stormed his house at about 11:30 am Monday demanding the whereabouts of his son (Prince Adebayo Adeniyi) and that when he said he wasn’t at home they took him away instead. He revealed he was taken to the Sunsun Divisional headquarters for interrogation.

He revealed meanwhile that the policemen first invaded his residence Friday midnight (Saturday   at about 12:30 am). “We woke up and my wife said ‘aren’t people within our compound? Then they started banging at the door and windows that we should open the door to the main house. They had jumped over the fence bending the barbed wire we installed. Those that jumped in now broke the padlock at the gate to allow others to gain entrance.

“They surrounded the house. They insisted we should open the door but I demanded their identity and they said government security agents and I opened the door. They disclosed they were looking for Bayo, I said I didn’t have Bayo at home. They ransacked the whole house, broke wardrobes and then took away our phones, my own and my wife’s. They left later at about 1am. But they returned at about 2:30am by which time they returned our phones.”

He further said he informed the policemen that the last time his son came home was last Tuesday but that he returned the third day.

He stated the policemen now came back Monday, “They came back yesterday at about 11:30a.m. They whisked me away and returned me at about 5pm. I was asked some questions about where my son was, I told them he came home eight days ago and returned the third day to Abuja. They were angry I didn’t know his whereabouts that I don’t know where my son lives. I said I didn’t say that, I told them he lives in Abuja. So, they took me to the Police Station – Sunsun. They brought me back in their vehicle at about 5:00pm.”

Neighbours disclosed the police came full force Monday in about three vehicles, which threw everyone into panic. “Yes, we were all frightened when they came yesterday,” Pa Adeniyi corroborated the neighbours. “Even if you had swallowed sigidi, you would be scared. I muttered, ‘What is this again, must I go from one problem to another?’ I don’t know the offence of my son, you just said he is wanted, you insisted what was his job and I told you that he said he was working under government in Abuja.”

Asked if he was rough handled at the police station, he retorted no, “I was not mistreated at the station. They just asked me questions about my son’s whereabouts and at about 5pm they returned me home.”

When asked about the character of his son, he unveiled, “My son is gentle, he is never a troublemaker, and I know he works in Abuja under the government. He doesn’t fight with anyone, since his childhood. When I first learnt of the travail I was surprised. I heard a lot that he was not qualified for the job and so on.”
