Your Majesty, you make us proud,’ UNIUYO don praises Soun, donates in support of Cradles Carnival

An Ogbomoso indigene in the Department of Architecture, University of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, Dr. Abimbola Adeoluwa Oke, has praised the Soun of Ogbomosoland His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III over his various developmental strides. This is as he donated packs of bottle water in support of the Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival which he said he attended last year, regretting his inability to attend this year’s.

Dr Oke in a goodwill message contained in a letter presented by Mr. Femi Ogunlana (publisher of ogbomosoonsightonline.com) and Prince Abraham Oke (his dad) Wednesday while delivering the consignment of the bottle water, expressed gratitude to the Soun noting “I congratulate you, KABIYESI. The idea of the annual event is a laudable one as it has brought Ogbomoso to a new level of limelight. May your reign be long Kabiyesi.”

“I was at the first edition of the carnival, life in Ogbomoso in December 2024 with my family and I can tell you sir, that we had a very nice time at home. I regret my inability to be present personally this year due to my engagements. However, I still want to be a part of it one way or the other and that is why I have made the arrangements to make this modest contribution of few packs of customized table water for entertainment of some of your guests in the palace as I am sure you will be receiving quite several of them.”

A grandson of a former Ologuro of Oguro late Chief Emmanuel Ayinla Okedahunsi he stressed the strides by the monarch are pride-inspring, while pledging allegiance to his reign.

“Kabiyesi, I have been watching you very closely from a distance right from the inception of your reign, and I must say that I am proud of you, Kabiyesi.

”I therefore pledge my total commitment and loyalty to your reign as the Soun of Ogbomosoland. I am always praying for you. The hand of God Almighty will keep upholding you. Amen.

“I wish you and the entirety of our people of Ogbomosoland a happy, prosperous and a successful 2025 Ogbomoso Cradle Carnival.”

Architect Abimbola Oke’s profile

Arc. Abimbola Adeoluwa Oke was born in Kafanchan, Kaduna State on the 18th of March 1969. He hails from Ogbomoso South Local Government Area of Oyo State, Nigeria.

Abimbola Oke began his Primary School education at the Bayero University Staff School, Kano and completed it at the Jos University Staff School, in 1981.

He proceeded to Government Day Secondary School, Funtua in the then Kaduna state now Katsina State for his Secondary education between 1981 and 1986.

Abimbola Oke was enrolled into the prestigious University of Jos, Jos, Nigeria to study Architecture in 1988.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) and a Master of Science degree (M.Sc.) in Architecture in 1992 and 1995 respectively.

He was deployed to Akwa Ibom State for his one-year mandatory National Youth Service in November 1995 to October 1996.

Arc Abimbola Oke also has a Master of Science Degree in Construction Management and Ph.D. in Architecture both from the University of Uyo, He has several academic publications to his credit.

He began his career in Architecture with U-Peters Associates, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, a firm of Architects and Engineers from November 1995 to October 1996.

He was employed as Architect by Ferrostall A.G, (Of Germany), on the Aluminum Smelters Plant Project, Ikot Abasi, in February 1997 to May 2000.

He joined the services of the University of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State as an academic staff in July 2000 till date.

He joined Otto Trinity Studios Limited in 2003 till date and had been on a few projects of the Akwa Ibom State Government as Resident Architect.

Very recently in 2023 he joined the services of the newly established Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi as Ag. Director of the Directorate of Physical Planning and Development, while he proceeded on a leave of absence at the University of Uyo, Uyo.

Arc. Abimbola Oke, is the Principal Consultant at OmniArch Nigeria, a firm of Architects and the Managing Director of Omni-Arch Integrated Associates Nig, Ltd, a Design and Build Consulting and Construction Management Company based in Uyo, Nigeria.

He has been actively involved in the design and construction industry as well as training of students of architecture for about Thirty (30) years now. He had served on various project design and supervision teams.

He had been a two term Secretary of Akwa Ibom State Chapter of The Nigerian Institute of Architects from 2007 – 2012 and a two term Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Chapter of The Nigerian Institute of Architects.from 2016-2020.

He is happily married with three children.
