‘Cradles Carnival is a symbol of unity, identity, pride’ – ODDA, congratulates Soun, Ogbomoso people

The Ogbomoso Descendants Development Association (ODDA) has congratulated the Soun of Ogbomosoland His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, and all sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland on the commencement of the second edition of Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival which started today December 18.

In a congratulatory message, ODDA, a socio-cultural organisation, noted the carnival is a “symbol of unity, identity and pride – one that reconnects us with our roots, preserves our heritage, and strengthens the bond between Ogbomoso indigenes across generations and continents.”

The message states in full, “The Ogbomoso Descendants Development Association (ODDA) joyfully welcomes and congratulates Kabiyesi, the revered traditional leadership, and all sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland, both at home and in the Diaspora, on the successful commencement of the Second Edition of the Cradle Carnival, holding from 18th to 22nd December, 2025.

“This historic cultural celebration stands as a powerful symbol of unity, identity, and pride—one that reconnects us with our roots, preserves our heritage, and strengthens the bond between Ogbomoso indigenes across generations and continents.

“We warmly encourage our brothers and sisters in the Diaspora to take full advantage of this season to reconnect with home, renew family ties, invest in community development, and actively support initiatives that advance the cultural, social, and economic progress of Ogbomosoland.

“ODDA commends Kabiyesi, the organising committee, stakeholders, and volunteers whose dedication has continued to elevate the Cradle Carnival as a flagship cultural event worthy of global recognition.
