Members of the new executive council and advisory committee of the Egbe Omo Ogbomoso Parapo Agbaaye have been revealed.

This followed the dissolution of the former executive committee of the socio-cultural association earlier Friday by the Soun of Ogbomosoland His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III which he announced during a press conference regarding the issue held at the palace at Oja’gbo, Ogbomoso.

Recall the organisation was embroiled in crisis in the last one year or more leading to unsavoury incidents such as the boycott of the last AGM by the Soun and the chiefs and recently the sack of the home zone chairman Prince Aderemi Olude by the national executive committee. The sack Prince Olude however dismissed as the handiwork of a group in the national exco.

The Soun promised earlier this year that the association would be re-organised and that work was ongoing in that direction.

Meanwhile, the president of the organisation Rt. Justice Afolabi Adeniran (rtd) passed away creating a vacuum in the leadership of the association.

It is observed that the sacked national exco was aloof from the palace, which was not so during previous adminstrations. The exco members of Ogbomoso Parapo used to be familiar faces in the palace but it’s observed the dissolved exco members did not toe that path which made them estranged from the reigning Soun.

The irreconcilable path seemingly taken by them continued to create division resulting in the hammer that fell on the committee Friday afternoon.

Soun who effusively extolled the virtues of the late Justice Adeniran declared, “As the Grand Patron of ‘Egbe Omo Ogbomoso Parapo Agbaaye’ and after due considerations, I hereby announce the dissolution of its Executive Council and replacement with a Caretaker Committee for the time being.”

He continued, “This Caretaker Committee is to commence sitting immediately and must take concrete steps that will lead to the emergence of a new Executive Council which I shall inaugurate in December 2025 by the grace of God.”

Members of the Committee are as follows: Professor Josiah Olusegun Ajiboye (chairman), Rear Admiral Jacob Ajani (Retired) (secretary), Professor Oyelowo Oyewo (member), Professor Thomas Oyelami (member), Alhaji (Barrister) Abdulfatai Owodunni (member), Alhaji Quassim Olaosebikan (member), Barrister (Mrs) Funmi Asaolu – (member) and Alhaja Mulikat Usman (member).”

Also announcing the creation of an advisory council the paramount ruler stated, “For ease of operation and to preserve institutional memory as well as achieve continuity, an Advisory Committee, comprising selected members of the dissolved Executive Council; is hereby constituted to support the Caretaker Committee. Members of the Advisory Committee are as follows: Engineer Lanre Ogunwole (chairman), Chief Akintunde Okesanya (member), Honourable Michael Abioye (member), chairman (Lagos/Ogun zone) (member), Mr Ezekiel Alade Ojo (SW 1: Ibadan zone) (member), Mr Thomas Kolawole Olaleye (SW 2: Osun zone) (member), Alhaji Mustapha Akin (Northern zone) (member), Deacon Peter Ajagbe (Central: Kwara/Kogi/Benue zone) (member), Prophet Isaac Ogunjimi (SW 3:Edo/Ekiti/Ondo zone) (member), and chairmen of all overseas Ogbomoso socio-cultural organizations that are affiliated to Parapo.”

While congratulating members of the new leadership Oba Olaoye charged them to put in their best. “Finally, I wish to sincerely congratulate these glorious children of Ajilete for having been found worthy to undertake these very important assignments. While praying for their continued sound health, knowledge, wisdom and understanding to deliver excellently on their assignments; let me seize this opportunity to appeal to all and sundry to wholeheartedly support and adequately cooperate with them. God bless us all as well as our land. “Ogbomoso a gbe wa o, amin”!”
