The Soun of Ogbomosoland His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III has congratulated the chairman, Senator Olubunmi Adetunbi; Managing Director, Dr Charles Akindiji Akinola as well as other members of the South West Development Commission (SWDC) on their appointments.
The monarch specially thanked Nigerian leader President Bola Tinubu for his exceptional foresight in establishing the commission which he noted would aside leading to regional integration accelerate growth and development.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate the new team assembled by President Bola Tinubu to pilot the affairs of the South West Development Commission,” the Oba remarked in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Community Relations Rev’d Peter Olaleye.
“It is a crack team based on the antecedent of each of them. The team is expected to perform and meet and exceed the expectations of Mr. President.
“The President must also be commended for his exceptional foresight in forging regional integration and development. There is no doubt this is a good foundation for rapid development in the South West. The team is welcome on board.”
He specifically hailed the MD of the commission Dr Akinola whom he said he had known for forty years stressing he is an achiever of note who boasts impressive credentials.
“The appointment of Dr Charles Akindiji Akinola is especially commendable. I have known Dr Akinola for about 46 years since his days at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), he has always demonstrated exceptional ability. His appointment is a plus for the Commission and l am certain he will bring to bear his rich wealth of experience. I am assured the motive of Mr. President will be realised with his selection of a great team.”
The co-chairman of the Oyo Council of Obas and Chiefs charged the commission to work with great efficiency and devotion to attain the purpose of the commission bordering on developments in the infrastructural, health, education and agricultural sectors.

“I with all sense of humility and seriousness charge the Commission to ensure accelerated and balanced development in critical areas such as infrastructure, education, health, agriculture and investment in human capital development. SWDC must lead the way and be different.”
Assuring the team of the support of all sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland Oba Olaoye submitted, “Ogbomoso at all times will support you. We will pray for your success, it’s imperative.”
Meanwhile, the monarch urged the Senate to “expeditiously confirm them because the South West is ready to his the ground running.’
