Ogbomoso Parapo home zone chairman suspended

The chairman of Egbe Omo Ogbomoso Parapo Agbaaye Home Zone Prince Aderemi Olude has been suspended from office.
His suspension which takes effect from April 25 will last six months and in his place a new acting chairman was appointed – he is Alhaji Iliasu Jamiu, who until his appointment was second vice chairman of the branch.
This was disclosed during a press conference held Monday at the headquarters of the socio-cultural organisation at Apake.
“As of today Prince Aderemi Olude is suspended,” Alhaji Abdulraheem Adetayo Yusuf, who represented the worldwide president Hon. Justice Afolabi Adeniran (rtd) at the conference said as he addressed pressmen.
Alhaji Yusuf, a former national vice president of the association accompanied by the general secretary Chief Akintunde Okesanya and some other exco members, further stressed, “The suspension will last six months and in his place, an acting vice chairman in the person of Alhaji Iliasu Jamiu has been appointed.

Yusuf, who is currently the representative of the 16 northern states (northern zone) in the national exco, pointed out that Prince Olude had enmeshed himself in various “illegal activities,” and refused to answer a query earlier given him in March to defend himself, asserting his “lack of remorse when he was summoned to a meeting on April 25 necessitated the suspension.”
“He collected money illegally from road construction workers on Ogbomoso – Oyo road, from other people and also, when we asked him to withdraw from a suit challenging the relocation of the Faculty of Agriculture of LAUTECH to Iseyin by some parents, he refused and he did not say he would not. We took that decision when some elders pointed out that the relocation will benefit Ogbomoso in terms of the institution becoming a conventional university aside others. But he did not heed our directive.

“Also, he keeps on instituting programmes like Isokan Ogbomoso, which is not known to our constitution, without clearance from the national exco. He keeps on boasting that as the chairman of the home zone he is superior whereas home zone is just one of ten zones. We gave him fair hearing by inviting him to a meeting on April 25 but he snubbed the chance. So, the exco had decided to sanction him by suspending him for six months with effect from April 25. During that period he is deprived of authority to call or attend any meeting. After six months the matter will be reviewed.”
The acting chairman Alhaji Jamiu is advised to ‘always carry along and seek the permission and approval of the President on behalf of National Executive Committee before embarking, taking action or do any programmes that will contribute to the development of Ogbomosoland,” the letter of appointment, given to him and signed by the trio of Justice Adeniran, Chief Okesanya and Comrade T.M. Balogun (PRO), stated.
When contacted Prince Olude said “they would hear from us.”
