Governor, Emir to receive Oba Ghandi as he begins 3-day visit to Gombe

Soun of Ogbomosoland His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege lll is to begin a three-day visit to Gombe state in the northeastern zone of Nigeria today Monday February 3rd.
Soun, one of the three permanent chairmen of Oyo State Traditional Council, will during the visit meet with sons and daughters of Ogbomoso in the state and in that part of the country generally, to discuss how to move their hometown forward.
According to a release by the organizers, the paramount ruler, on touching down in Gombe will be received by the governor of Gombe state His Excellency Alhaji Muhammed Inuwa Yahaya, (who is also the Dan Majen Gombe). The Oba also will be received by the Emir of Gombe His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr) Abubakar Sheu Abubakar IIl.
On February 4, the paramount ruler will hold a “town hall meeting” with indigenes of Ogbomoso in the whole of northeastern Nigeria at the Multi-purpose Event Hall of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gombe, during which matters affecting them and Ogbomoso as a whole will be deliberated with the aim of bettering their fortune individually and collectively and particularly on how to change the narrative of Ogbomoso, investment- and development-wise.

The town hall meeting is to be hosted by the Oba Yoruba in Gombe, Alhaji Jima Alao Yusuf and chairman of Gombe local government, Barrister Sani A.A. Haruna.
The third day of the visit will see the monarch who has demonstrated capacity for transforming his domain into a model city being driven on a pleasure ride to tourist centres in Gombe with a view to developing tourism in Ogbomoso zone as well.
When contacted, Oba Olaoye’s Coordinating Assistant on Media and Community Relations, Rev’d Peter Olaleye, confirmed the trip saying, “Kabiyesi Oba Ghandi is exceedingly passionate about Ogbomoso and travelling to Gombe is to further explore means of transforming the city into a model one.”
“Last week he attended an economic summit on Ogbomoso. Another international economic summit is scheduled for April – the goal of that is to sell Ogbomoso to the world and make investors become aware of the opportunities that abound in the zone. He is also focused on encouraging sons and daughters of the city to contribute to its development. I charge our people to continue to support him.”
Recall the traditional ruler in the past visited sons and daughters of Ogbomoso in Ore (Ondo state), Jos (capital of Plateau state), United Kingdom and in North America.
The Gombe visit is a continuation of the efforts.
