Soun of Ogbomoland Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, smarting from the huge success of the maiden Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival, which ended Monday, has called on the people of the historic city not to rest on their oars but to be stimulated to build the community into that of excellence.

 

The highly loved-Oba made this charge in his Facebook wall Wednesday.

 

“I call upon every son and daughter of Ogbomosoland to rally together and sustain the momentum we have built. Let us channel the energy, unity, and pride we have witnessed into tangible actions that will make Ogbomoso a beacon of excellence and a model city for generations to come.”

Also, he expressed gratitude to major stakeholders for contributing immensely to the success of the carnival including Oyo state helmsman, Engr. Seyi Makinde, his commissioner for culture and tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun, traditional rulers in Ogbomoso zone among others.

 

“With a heart brimming with gratitude and joy, I stand before you today to reflect on the monumental success of this just-concluded event.

 

“First and foremost, I express my profound gratitude to His Excellency, the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde , for his unwavering love and support for the development of Ogbomosoland. We deeply appreciate your generosity in granting us access to the stadium for this grand occasion. Your commitment to our progress is a source of great inspiration.

 

“To the Honorable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun, I extend my heartfelt appreciation. Your dedication and tireless efforts have been instrumental in ensuring the success of this event. Your passion for preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Ogbomosoland is deeply commendable.

 

“I also wish to express my deepest gratitude to our revered kings across Ogbomosoland. Your wisdom, cultural leadership, and unwavering support have elevated this carnival to historic heights. You are the custodians of our identity, and your presence has been a beacon of unity.
