Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, may be engulfed in another round of crisis as members of the LAUTECH branches of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), are up in arms against the institution’s authorities over unpaid arrears.
“The school owes us arrears of some allowances, which were to have been paid. It remains 40% and they promised to pay this month but now they are talking of paying just 8% of the money, we aren’t taking that,” a member of the association, who was visibly agitated, but spoke under the condition of anonymity, told ogbomosoinsightonline.com, while adding, “the unions may hold a peaceful protest this morning.”
Chairman of SSANU, LAUTECH branch, Obama, when contacted, only said, “I can’t talk to you now, maybe tomorrow,” while not debunking the brewing crisis.
