People of Ogbomoso, I write to you today with a burden in my heart and fire in my bones.
Ogbomoso, our beloved city, our Jerusalem, is calling us. The wall that our fathers built is begging to be rebuilt. The question is, who will rise to build it? Shall we fold our arms and watch strangers build our home for us? God forbid!
This is not the time for division. This is not a Christian project, a Muslim project, nor the traditionalist project. It is not a project for Lagbedu, Arowomole, Oke-Aare, or any single family. This is OGBOMOSO PROJECT. Whether you pray on Sunday or on Friday or Everyday, whether you are from Oke-Aaje, Osupa, Okelerin, Isale Afon, Caretaker, Pakiotan, Akande, or Abogunde, we are one. We share one history, one blood, and one future.

Our fathers did not wait for government before they built the Ogbomoso we met. They used communal effort, Ajo, Esusu, and self-sacrifice. They built our great Baptist schools, our great High Schools, our mosques and churches with their bare hands. Can this generation do less? No!
Therefore, I provoke every inhabitant of Ogbomoso to rise NOW.

To our parents, I say: Talk to your children. From all secondary schools in Ogbomoso to LAUTECH, UNILORIN, University of Ibadan, and all tertiary institutions where Ogbomoso sons and daughters are studying. Encourage them to sow a seed. Let a student send One Thousand Naira, Two Thousand Naira, Five Thousand Naira etc. It is not about the amount; it is about ownership. Let them know early that if they do not build Ogbomoso, no one will build it for them. Nothing is small.

To our market women and traders in Oja Akande, Wazo, Oja Oba, Oja Jagun, and Owode., please let us encourage them to do the needful nothing is too small. To our artisans: the tailors, welders, carpenters, bricklayers, mechanics, and hairdressers, talk to each other Ogbomoso need your token. To our teachers in our public and private schools, our nurses and doctors in Bowen, LAUTECH, and General Hospital, we should not be left behind individually. Our farmers, our okada and Maruwa riders, and our drivers, let us move closer to them and encourage them to give their widows’ mite. This is your city. Bring something. God honors a cheerful giver.
Do not say, “What will my small money do?” When a thousand people bring small money, it becomes big money. When ten thousand people bring small money, it becomes a mighty project. Your 500 Naira is not small. Your 1,000 Naira is not small. It is a brick in the wall of our Jerusalem.
