Oyo workers will smile – Makinde’s aide, assures on meeting Dec 1 deadline

Implementation of the new minimum wage and consequential adjustment in Oyo state will meet the stipulated deadline of December 1st 2024 as issued by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.
The state chairman of NLC, Comrade Kayode Martins and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Bayo Titilola-Sodo gave this assurance while featuring on the BCOS Current Affairs TV programme.
The special adviser on labour matters, Comrade Titilola- Sodo stated that with the initial approval of 80,000 naira benchmark, the workforce of the state government will smile to the bank after the conclusion of the process.

Comrade Titilola-Sodo added that Governor Seyi Makinde’s worker friendly policy will continue in the state as he further charged workers to reciprocate the gesture.
Also, the Oyo state NLC chairman Comrade Martins revealed that the consequential adjustment process is in top gear and was optimistic that the joint negotiation committee and the assent by Governor Makinde will beat the December 1st deadline issued at the national level.

It will be recalled that Governor Makinde approved 80,000 naira minimum wage for workers in Oyo state.
