Soun: Coronation remains December as excitement overflows in Ogbomoso

There are indications that the coronation of Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orunogege III, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, will go ahead as planned in December 2023.
Information reaching ogbomosoinsightonline.com reveals that the “event is on course, and has always been on course” moreover with the stay of execution motion granted Monday at an High Court sitting in Ogbomoso, Oyo state.
The nullification of the appointment of Oba Ghandi Olaoye on October 25 by the same court slowed down activities towards the coronation as uncertainties enveloped the preparation.
“Now, that stay of execution motion against the judgement of the High Court filed by the defense of the monarch had been granted the coast is now clear for the coronation,” a palace source who however says he is not authorized to speak on the matter informs ogbomosoinsightonline.com.
Meanwhile, the press secretary to the monarch, Rev’d Peter Olaleye, could not be reached as calls put to his mobile line did not go through at the time of filing this report.
According to the schedule earlier released by the Central Planning Committee of the Coronation, the event will take place between December 14 and 19 at various venues in the ancient city, expected to be attended by many dignitaries from across the world.
In another development, the favourable court ruling today has elicited joy and excitement among the people of Ogbomosoland.

Excited people were observed expressing congratulations to themselves the moment the news of the court ruling hit the airwaves. “A ku orire ti Oba Ghandi,” (Congratulations on His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi), are the words spurting out from every corner. Social media platforms are also awash with various congratulatory comments and messages.
“The October 25 judgment was a setback, which engendered disillusionment among the people but today’s ruling has restored hope that a greater Ogbomoso is possible and achievable,” an excited man, who identifies himself as Ezekiel Adeleke told ogbomosoinsightonline.com.
“Oba Ghandi Olaoye’s one and a half months’ reign before the legal overturn ignited high hopes. His Majesty is a man of idea, this he has demonstrated by his opening strides; he knows what he wants and has set the ball rolling.
“It is my prayer his vision will now be realized. Our people should support him to succeed. I have faith that the judgment of the Appeal Court later will be favourable too. The voice of the people is the voice of God. The majority supports the king and God has sanctioned it.”
