Olugbon’s outburst against Soun: The strong warning by the ‘Ilus,’ a welcome development, by Fatai ADEWUYI

I watched a video interview granted Ogbomoso Focus Tv by the Ogbomoso High Chiefs (Ilus). In the interview, the Ilus issued a strong warning to Oba Olugbon on his contention over Soun’s hegemony over OGBOMOSOLAND and the five local governments in Ogbomoso zone.

The interviewees included High Chiefs S.S. Otolorin, Areago; Kasali Oladipo, Abese; Adeniran Ojo, Ikolaba and Oluwakemi Ogundare, the Iyalode. These are the “Ilus” of Ogbomoso or members of the Soun-in-Council, who are running the affairs of Ogbomoso with the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye.

That these chiefs have come out to warn Oba Olugbon and throw more light on the issue of supremacy of Soun over other Obas within Ogbomosoland and all the five local governments is laudable and desirable as this will help to correct the blatant the lies being peddled by Olugbon in recent times.

The interview confirmed both legal and traditional supremacy of Soun over the other Obas with empirical evidence like Gazettes and publications produced, as against the rhetoric and lies that Oba Olugbon rely on.

The interview really frowned at the insult Oba Olugbon cast on Soun Stool by calling Oba Ghandi by name without any iota of respect or decorum.

What is really pertinent is that Oba Olugbon is being pushed by the enemies of the town as collaborator to sabotage Oba Ghandi’s development agenda. The Ilus are aware of the fact that Oba Olugbon’s action is in accordance with the script written by the enemies of the town.

The Ilus have now resolved to be engaging him in reciprocal measure, which is laudable.

Meanwhile, we hope he is going to heed the warning given by the Ilus and allow peace to reign and stop chasing shadow instead of substance. He should accept the consenting authority of Soun for the sake of unity and progress of Ogbomosoland.
