RE: What art thou with Soun, Oba Olugbon! By Fatai ADEWUYI

With reference to this article and its verification of Soun as being consenting authority over OGBOMOSOLAND and all the five local governments in Ogbomoso zone or land as against contrary assertion by Oba Olugbon, it is high time such affront by Olugbon be put to check not only by mere rtheoric but by legal action.

It is an affront and shameful for a Second Class Oba or even First Class Oba to be challenging the authority of a paramount ruler of Soun calibre. Every thing put apart, talk of anything, Soun is superior to Olugbon! Talk of riches, popularity, decorum, intelligence, exposure and moral uprightness, Olugbon is far far behind.

Let us call a spade a spade, if a stop is not put to this insult and effrontery, the image and institution of Soun will be put to ridicule.

Apart from the institution of Soun challenging Olugbon in the law court for contempt of Oyo State Gazette, which confirmed Ogbomosoland has been under the hegemony of Soun which Oba Olugbon is challenging, concerned Ogbomoso citizens can do the same. If not because of politics, the same Olugbon has legal battle with his family which objects to his legitimacy to the throne.

The Oyo state government should address this issue for it is an indictment on the state for its authority to be challenged by an Oba. Honestly, it is ridiculous for Olugbon to be challenging Soun publicly as if he has personal grudges with him, too immature and uncivil.

This has to stop for the assault is destructive and amount to inciting other Baales against the Soun Oba Ghandi which may deter progress and peaceful coexistence. A stitch in nine saves ten.

Long live Ogbomosoland under Oba Ghandi.
