This latest development was disclosed by Engr John Obajinmi, National President of National Industrial Safety Council of Nigeria (NISCN) at the weekend.
“The problems on the 132kva projects have now been resolved after our last engagement,” Obajinmi said. “And the contractor is promising 6 months to complete it. We only hope no unforeseen circumstances will cause delay. But it is cheering news.”

Obajinmi, an Ogbomoso indigene, who has worked tirelessly to get the project completed, being an insider, expatiated on the previous lacuna, “There was an agelong (over 15years) problem of terms and service conditions of the contract because since the project was delayed, right of way for the transmission lines that will connect the substation in Ogbomoso to the source at Ganmo, faced challenges, and so, there were needs for redesign, contract re-evaluation etc.
Related News:
“Recall that the exchange rate was about $100 to naira when the contract was awarded, but with the new dollar rates, the contractors could no longer execute the project, now, the Presidency had approved re-evaluation and project extension. Therefore, there was need for procurement extension.

“All of the above have now been cleared and the contractors can now go on with the remaining aspect of the project which is construction of transmission lines from Ganmo to Ogbomoso. So, let’s say between 6-10 months, it should be ready, in case of unforeseen circumstances.”
