Adegbite, Twindad’s boss again! Concludes empowerment training for constituents, gifts cash awards

The Dr. Kunle Adegbite’s Twindad Skill Acquisition and Empowerment Programme has concluded the training of tens of constituents, who were imparted with various hands-on skills in arts such as photography, phone repairs, make up, soap making etc. The participants were equipped with practical skills aimed at promoting self-reliance and economic independence in the community just as each trainee was given cash donation of N50, 000 (fifty thousand naira) to help facilitate their start-up.

At the graduation ceremony held Tuesday at the Baptist Secondary Grammar School, Ahoyaya, Ogbomoso, were leaders of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) and several members and supporters of the party, including the party chairmen of NDC in Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, and Oriire local government areas.

Speaking during the programme, Dr. Kunle Adegbite, the sponsor of the programme, said the empowerment initiative was designed to contribute to the development of the society and help beneficiaries achieve self-independence.

Dr Adegbite, chairman of the Twindad Foundation, and who is candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) for House of Representatives for Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire federal constituency, disclosed that each participant would be receiving a certificate of participation as well as ₦50,000 cash donation to support the application of the skills acquired during the training.

Adegbite urged the beneficiaries to “utilise the opportunity responsibly and turn the knowledge acquired into sustainable sources of income.”

Also speaking, Hon. Sunday Adeyemo (Booda Sunday Adeyemo, BSA), NDC candidate for Ogbomoso South state constituency, thanked the trainees for using the opportunity well and also to be part of the programme, urging them to make productive use of the skills acquired, and prayed that the knowledge would translate into success and improved livelihoods.

Similarly, Hon. Oluwaseun Adeyinka (a.k.a. Seun Alata), House of Assembly’s NDC candidate for Ogbomoso North, explained that the major objective of the programme was to equip people in the locality with relevant skills that could enable them to become economically independent, charging the beneficiaries to make the best use of the opportunity.

A leader of the NDC, Mr. Kehinde, observed the training had already started yielding positive results among the beneficiaries saying this had been materializing before its completion.

This is as he stressed that as the world continues to evolve, skills acquisition has become increasingly important, urging the trainees to take advantage of the knowledge and practical experience gained during the programme.

The participants also expressed appreciation for the initiative, saying the training had exposed them to valuable skills that could improve their livelihoods.

One of the trainees in phone repairs said he had acquired practical knowledge of repairing mobile phones, describing the experience as an opportunity that would help him become self-reliant.

Other beneficiaries similarly testified to the knowledge and practical skills gained during the training and commended Dr. Kunle Adegbite Twindad for the gesture.
