Ogbomoso Grammar School Old Students Association congratulates rescued victims of Oriire abduction

The Ogbomoso Grammar School Old Students’ Association (OGSOSA) has congratulated the rescued teachers and students in Oriire local government area of Oyo state.

This is contained in a letter signed by Olatunde Alagbe (national president) and Alamu Christopher Adebayo (national secretary) and made available to ogbomosoinsightonline.com.

“With hearts full of joy, gratitude, and thanksgiving to God Almighty, the National Executive Council and the entire membership of Ogbomoso Grammar School Old Students’ Association worldwide felicitate with the families, teachers, pupils, and the good people of Oriire Local Government Area on the safe release of the pupils and teachers abducted on May 15, 2026,” the statement reads.

The association disclosed the feat was a source of immense joy throughout Nigeria describing it as triumph of prayer and resilience just as it expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state and security agencies.

“This news brings immense relief not only to Oriire, but to the entire Ogbomoso zone and Oyo State. The safe return of our children and their teachers is a triumph of prayer, community resilience, and the tireless efforts of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; the Oyo State Government under His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde; the Nigeria Police Force; and all security agencies involved.

“We celebrate the courage of the parents, the unity of the Oriire community, and the dedication of all who worked behind the scenes to secure this freedom.”

OGSOSA prayed God would heal the victims of all wounds, emotional and physical, declaring the faith demonstrated by their families had been rewarded.

“To the released pupils and teachers: Welcome home. May God heal every trauma, restore every lost time, and grant you peace. To the families: Your faith has been rewarded.

“Today we rejoice, and we give all glory to God for answering our prayers. Congratulations once again, Oriire. Welcome back home. May such devastating and painful incidents never occur in our institutions of learning again.”
