President and Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has, in an X post, expressed immense elation at the safe rescue of the Oriire abductees, assuring criminals would not have a breathing space in the country.
The president appreciated the security agencies for their efforts in securing the release without payment of ransom or hostage swap.

“Tonight, our nation has reason to give thanks. The children and teachers abducted by Ansaru terrorists in Oyo State have been rescued by our security forces, alive and unharmed. No ransom was paid. No concession was made. I salute every officer and operative whose courage, discipline, and professionalism made this possible.
“To those who seek to spread fear through terror, know that the Nigerian state will pursue you relentlessly. We will protect our people, defend our communities, and never relent until peace and security prevail across our country.”

In the same vein the president in another forum expressed profound gratitude to the Oyo state government for its cooperation while the travail lasted, urging the state government to be proactive and ensure schools are adequately secured.
“For cooperating with the Federal Government in all rescue efforts, President Tinubu commended the Oyo State Government and charged it to ensure adequate security around schools across the state.
