The Oyo state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has released a revised school calendar.

This followed the withdrawal of services by teachers in the past four weeks as a result of the abduction of 46 teachers and students/pupils in schools in Oriire local government, which obviously disrupted academic activities in public primary and secondary schools across the state.

To make up for the lost time, Mrs. B. T. Oyinloye, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, in a circular letter she signed titled, *Adjusted 2025/2026 school calendar for public primary and secondary schools in Oyo State,” disclosed that schools are to resume on Monday 6th July, 2026.while the session would now end on Friday 14th August, 2026 (instead of the previous August 4).

The circular stipulated six weeks in the adjusted calendar, while holidays will span four weeks (instead of six weeks)between Monday 17th August, 2026 and Friday 11th September, 2026.
