More soldiers have been drafted to the Old Oyo National Park in efforts to rescue the 39 students/pupils and 7 teachers abducted by bandits from three schools at Ahoro-Esinele and Yawota villages on May 15, 2026.
Earlier Monday, ogbomosinsightonline.com sighted about twenty-five trucks fully loaded with members of the Nigerian Armed Forces driven through the Akala Memorial Highway (Ogbomoso – Iseyin Road) believably enroute the National Park where the bandits and their victims are held captive. The siege by security operatives on the area is being amplified in recent days and this is a further proof. Even as reports claimed that security operatives have blocked all exit routes from the dreaded forest reserve.

The Oyo state governor Engr Seyi Makinde has continually said rescue efforts are ongoing assuring that the abductees would be returned safely to their loved ones.
However, this assurance is proving less comfortable to the people as many wonder how the victims would survive the inclement weather condition prevailing.

“I don’t really understand the situation,” a commentator who gave his name as Johnson Adekunle observed. “We heard their location had been unveiled weeks ago but why is it that they are still being searched? The old Oyo National Park is wide but why is it difficult to engage them? We have heard of aircraft surveillance but the rescue operation shouldn’t have lasted this long when they have not escaped to Sambisa.”
