Oyo declares Tuesday public holiday

Oyo state government has declared Tuesday June 16 as a public holiday in Oyo state to mark Hijrah 1448AH.
This is contained in a release Monday signed by Prof Musibau Adetunji Babatunde, Secretary to the State Government.
“The Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde has declared Tuesday, 16th June, 2026 a work-free day in the State, to commemorate and celebrate the new Islamic Calendar year (HIJRAH) 1448AH.

“His Excellency also enjoined all and sundry to use the occasion to pray for the peace, unity and prosperity of the State in particular, and the country in general.”
