A legislative expert and the Peoples Democratic Party House of Representatives candidate for Ogo Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, Prince Akinloye Olusegun Oyeniyi, has called on President Bola Tinubu to establish a military formation in Ogbomoso following bandit attacks on two schools in Oriire Local Government Area.
Oyeniyi, who is also a renowned public affairs analyst, said the attacks were a direct threat to education and security in Ogbomosoland and Nigeria at large.
He made the call in a statement issued on Tuesday while commiserating with the people of Oriire LGA, the wider Ogbomosoland community, the affected families and the Nigerian Union of Teachers.
“These attacks are becoming increasingly barbaric and now pose a direct threat to Ogbomoso, to Nigeria, and to our education system,” Oyeniyi said.

The PDP candidate urged Governor Seyi Makinde and President Tinubu to treat the northern boundaries of Ogbomoso, especially areas bordering the Kanji forests, as both a local and national security threat.
He said the zone poses a serious risk to lives, property and the country’s territorial integrity if left unchecked.
Oyeniyi further asked Tinubu to reinforce the Oyo State commands of all security agencies to end the incessant attacks and deter future threats.
He also called on the Oyo State House of Assembly and the National Assembly to treat the incident as a matter of urgent national emergency, probe it, and issue a resolution for immediate execution by the executive arms of government.

The candidate urged residents of Ogo Oluwa, Oriire, Surulere, Ogbomoso South and Ogbomoso North LGAs to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements or persons to security authorities.
“The safety of our children, teachers, and communities must come first. We cannot afford to normalize these attacks. It is time for decisive action at both state and federal levels,” he said.
