Two Fulani Bororo herdsmen in Elere Ajinapa, in Oriire local government area, near Gambari Surulere local government area), Ogbomoso zone of Oyo state, were last week detained by the police at the Igbon Police station.

ogbomosoinsightonline.com was informed by the farm owner (names withheld) that the suspects herded their cattle into the farm to graze, a cashew farm, they also pilfered cashew nuts. The matter was promptly reportedly at the nearby Igbon Police Station while the injured boy, Alao Ayoola, about 27 years old was taken for treatment. “But something strange happened as the attacker also reported at the same clinic for treatment, so, we suspected foul play. What might likely have happened was that the Bororo man had also informed the police and he was advised to seek medical treatment too so that the police could be record it as ‘two-fighting.’ So, we quickly reported at the Area Command Office in Ogbomoso, who promptly intervened. This led to the arrest of the two suspects.

“However, we are not satisfied on how the matter is being handled by the police because we are hearing they are planning to arraign the suspect for assault and wound instead of attempted murder,”  the farm owner fumed. “We have spent more than five hundred thousand on treatment alone.”
