Ladoke Akintola University of Technology LAUTECH Ogbomoso Oyo state, will next week admit 10, 223 students to Bachelor degree out of which 137 bagged first class.

 

The Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Rasak ROM Kalilu made this disclosure Thursday while addressing a press conference at the institution’s Council Chamber in the A.M. Salau Senate Building organised to herald the 18th convocation ceremonies.

 

Prof Kalilu disclosed that of the 10, 223 graduands, a total of 7,641 graduands would be awarded first degree (from 11 faculties) while 2,582 are in the postgraduate category.

Further breakdown shows that 1,889 bag second-class upper; 3,549 second-class lower; 1,008 third-class; and 37, pass.

 

17 Nursing Science graduands nick Distinction; 973, Credit category, and 31 of the graduands are in pass category.

 

He said for the bachelor’s degree, the graduands comprised students who underwent regular, part-time and distance learning.

 

The ceremonies he further revealed would last a week, featuring other programmes as research fair and exhibition, Jumat service on Friday, Church service, Alumni Day and Convocation Play on Monday.

 

Also, the weeklong event would feature Convocation Lecture on Tuesday and admission to first degrees and presentation of prizes. “The ceremonies will climax on Thursday 23rd April, 2026 with the award of postgraduate diplomas, admission to higher degrees, conferment of higher degrees, and the 36th Founders Day celebration.”

Prof Kalilu unveiled Oladepo Caleb Olugbenga (of the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering) as overall best graduating student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.89.
