PDP leaders in Ogbomoso South allegedly retrieve motorcycle from ex-council boss over defection

It has been alleged that some top hierarchies of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogbomoso South local government, Oyo state, are angrily targeting some leaders and members who recently defected from the party, going ahead to forcefully retrieve items they received as dividends of democracy during empowerment programmes when they were party members.

This was disclosed to ogbomosoinsightonline.com by some victims who however begged their names be not mentioned.

According to one of them he was given a motorcycle through the benefaction of the state governor Engr. Seyi Makinde but “shockingly, some agents of some of our leaders in Ogbomoso South demanded I return the bike. They were menacing and I have returned it to them. I was not the only person that experienced this, you can widen your net to get more victims.”

It was also learnt that a former chairman of Ogbomoso South local government who recently defected (name withheld) is a victim. When contacted, the former council boss affirmed it but said, “It has no meaning to me. If we don’t return it, they may start shouting that we are in possession of government property. So, l returned it without hassles when they sent people to take it back.”

Some others affirmed this but they were all afraid to give further details even as another party leader who similarly defected wonder over the kinds of politics being played. “Politics should be devoid of bitterness, you are together today, tomorrow you may not be together but the day after you are together again. So, politics shouldn’t be taken to such despicable level. Most of them had one time or the other also decamped from a political party. So, why are they full of bitterness?”
