Government Technical College Ogbomoso expresses gratitude to Soun over latest donations

In his bid to boost technical education, skill and training in Ogbomoso the Soun of Ogbomosoland His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III has facilitated the gift of two sewing machines for the Government Technical College (GTC), Ogbomoso Oyo state.

The items were donated by Hon. Mulikat Akande-Adeola through the efforts of the Iyalode of Ogbomosoland High Chief Rebecca Oluwakemi Ogundare.

In a statement made available to ogbomosoinsightonline.com, the principal Dn. Kehinde Adebiyi, expressed gratitude to the Soun saying the monarch has demonstrated intense desire to amplify technical and technological training in Ogbomosoland.

“This is commendable, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III has shown immense interest in the Government Technical College Ogbomoso since his ascension to the throne of his forefathers. Presently, an ICT centre the Oba facilitated is also under construction. In fact, the building is ready, facilities are now being installed. We will invite Kabiyesi to commission the project when finally ready.,” Dn Adebiyi enthused.

“This sewing machines too we will find highly useful in our Garment Making Department. I collected the machines Monday in company with some other staff at the palace on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Oyo State. We have put them to immediate use for the students.”

Ogbomoso Insight recalls that in 2025 hundreds of Ogbomosoland indigenes benefitted various free skill acquisition and training programmes, and empowerment organised by the Job Creation and Empowerment Committee of the 25 year-development plan of the Soun, in conjunctions with the Bank of Industry. The 2026 edition it is learnt is about kicking off.
