Adeniran Memorial Grammar School (AMGS) Ogbomoso Oyo state earlier Tuesday became richer following the donation of a multi-purpose electronic office machine (photocopier) by the 1992 set (science class).

The donation was in response to the request of the principal, Dr. Adewale Adeniran, during the annual general meeting of the alumni last December.

The senior prefect of the set, Dr. Solomon Babatunde Olaleye, in his speech, read on his behalf by a member of the set. Mrs. Foluke Fagbemi (nee Oroniran), said, “We are delighted to formally present a photocopier as a contribution to the school’s teaching and administrative resources.”

“We hope that this achievement serves as an inspiration to current students, demonstrating that with hard work, dedication, and commitment, they too can achieve excellence anywhere in the world,” Olaleye added. “We kindly request that you use this opportunity to discuss this with the students whenever convenient, encouraging them to pursue their dreams relentlessly.”

He also commiserated with the school over the transition of the founder of the school, Col. Adegboyega Adeniran (rtd.), which sad event occurred recently, noting Col Adeniran’s “vision, discipline and dedication” have continued to create “indelible mark on generations of students.”

He affirmed the set would continue to look for means of collaborating with the school, towards contributing to its growth and development.

In his remark the principal thanked the set, enthusing the photocopier “will greatly enhance teaching and learning process in the school, and enable us to produce education materials more efficiently.”

“We thank you for your kindness and commitment in giving back to your alma mater, it is truly inspiring, and we are grateful for your investment in the education future of our students, your support demonstrates a strong bond between our school and its alumni and we are honoured to have you as part of our school community, we look forward to witnessing the positive impact of your donation in our students’ academic journey.”

Dr. Adeniran charged other sets to “rise to this clarion call to meet our needs. Once again, we say thank you to your generosity, you are a shining example of old students.”

The machine makes photocopies of documents, scans and prints from computers.

Reacting president of AMGSOSA Mr. Femi Ogunlana hailed the donors asserting their gesture aligns with the developmental thrust of the exco and the whole general assembly. “We are impressed by the generosity of the 1992 science class set of the alumni. It aligns with our rust to restoration agenda. We are on a mission to turn rust to gold as far as our alma mater is concerned. The gesture of the 1992 set has reassured us we are on course, only recently, the 1987 set donated desktop computers to the school and recently completed the school gate.

“These are huge investments in the school, and especially in the educational pursuit of the students, we plead with other sets and individuals to align with this vision. I assure you the exco will soon come up with a list of possible projects to execute towards making our policy thrust a reality. Together we can. We will be remembered with fondness by the contributions we made and not by the amount of wealth we amassed, wealth often develops wings and flies away becoming useless especially after we are done with the earthly sojourn, it is our deeds that people will continue to talk about. A practical example is the demise of Col Adegboyega Adeniran. If he didn’t contribute to education expansion his passage wouldn’t have been so much celebrated. If we make positive impact it is for ourselves and our generations really. When the exco makes the call l urge others to rally round.”
