What a great challenge the caption of this write up is! Frankly, no discerning mind will deny the authenticity of the assertion that no one has been able to put on the shoes Akala left behind even his own son appears unmatched though he is on course. My rejoinder only bothers on the unfortunate nature of the assertion and the challenges it poses. I want to challenge Akala’s disciples that followed him, what they learned from him, they should be able to do like him now that he is demised. His legacies of selflessness and generosity are clear and worthy of emulation, his disciples in government should take after him. Unfortunately what we see is opposite and also among other politicians that are his detractors. So, my concern and message is that both Akala’s disciples and his detractors should face the challenges by emulating the good qualities of Akala listed in the said article so that his vacuum will not be left unfilled forever. Believing that we are all writing history!
