‘We’re heartbroken’ – AMGSOSA mourns school’s founder, Col Adeniran

The Adeniran Memorial Grammar School Old Students’ Association (AMGSOSA) has expressed deep sympathy over the death of Col. Adegboyega Adeniran (rtd), the founder of their alma mater, AMGS, Ogbomoso Oyo state.

“We are heartbroken by the demise of the founder of our alma mater Col. Adegboyega Adeniran (rtd.),” the association states in a press release Friday, signed by secretary and PRO, Segun Babawale and Segun Akinpelu respectively.

ogbomosoinsightonline.com reports that Col. Adeniran passed away earlier today at the age of 87.

AMGSOSA commended Col. Adeniran’s vision in establishing the school pointing out it had shaped generations of youths whose lives were remoulded. This is as it added that without the school, the trajectory of many would have been different.

They asserted that the late war hero deserves their accolades because of their ability to read and write today.

“The vision that guided him to establishing Adeniran Memorial Grammar School is laudable because it has shaped generations of students and youths. Many lives were remoulded and are being remoulded because of that singular step he took 47 years ago. If he had not taken that step the lives of many would have taken a different form.

“We appreciate his foresight and selflessness, we will forever cherish him. Because of him we are able to read and write today. He will eternally be entrenched in our memories because the over 30, 000 students that had passed out of the school and the countless students that will still go through her, won’t have a complete profile without a mention of AMGS. We are able to read and write today thanks to him. He provided a citadel of learning that we leveraged on.

“His spirit will continue to resonate in the four walls of the school, he was a guiding light and an inspiration. We are deeply saddened by his demise.”

Condoling the family the association states, “We empathise with the family, we extend our deepest sympathies, and acknowledge the profound and unimaginable loss they are experiencing during this deeply distressing time. The loss of your patriarch is beyond words, and we offer our most heartfelt condolences to the entire family.”
