OPINION: Saka Balogun and his Shenanigans by Admiral Jacob AJANI (rtd)

The entire sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland watched and listened to the utter gibberish from one Dr Saka Balogun, someone the Imperial Majesty, Kabiyesi, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, Soun of Ogbomoso Land recently conferred with the chieftaincy title of Balogun. The rubbish this old but insensitive man vomitted against the throne of Soun, both past and present, is considered an unacceptable affront to the sacred throne of Soun of Ogbomosoland.

Initially, we thought the man should be ignored because of his notoriety for such negative statements in the past, however, as sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland, we felt compelled to tell Saka Balogun that enough is enough.

His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, who particularly was interested in your case, and those Ogbomoso sons who appealed to Kabiyesi to graciously give you that title will today be ashamed of the kind of character they promoted. “A leopard can not change its spots”. Your inglorious records in politics and toxicity are now evident to all. You have demonstrated to the whole world that you are a dangerous person to be isolated.

Ogbomosoland deserves better, not this kind of a leech parading himself as ‘know-it-all’. Part of our anthem says, ‘Ogbomoso fe ilu won’. You have never demonstrated this. Rather, you have been a mischief-maker perceptibly all throughout your life. We think it is high time you examine your life, if it is not too late at age 89!

We demand that Kabiyesi, Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, takes the first step to ban this man from the Palace until he purges himself of his pride and infamous speeches.

If he persists, Kabiyesi should not fail to put machinery in motion to do the necessary thing to derobe this man of the Balogun title. “Eni to ba mo iyi wura la nta fun”.

Except he is Balogun of another town, he can not be allowed to continue to sow seeds of discord in our town. Enough is enough!

We, the true-born sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland, both at home and in diaspora stand firmly with our Kabiyesi, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye on all affairs concerning the smooth running of the town and his admirable developmental agenda. We will not allow a retrogressive character to destroy your vision and the giant strides we are witnessing today.

We stand in solidarity with the Palace on any decision to be taken on this manignant issue.
