More thieves arrested across Ogbomoso – ‘this one caught wearing a stolen cardigan’

Ogbomoso Oyo state, within two days last week, witnessed a boom in the harvest of thieves, as two groups were arrested at different locations in the town.
The first arrest according to information reaching ogbomosoinsightonline.com was on Thursday (November 20) at Ode-Abese area in Okelerin. It was a dramatic event, as if nemesis itself was determined to expose the perpetrators, who in the dead of the night burgled a barber’s shop.
An eyewitness told Ogbomoso Insight that a barber’s shop was burgled overnight in the area with valuables such as clippers, generating set, decorative glasses and so on carted away.
“That was not the first time that particular shop would be burgled,” the eyewitness informed.
“But luck ran out on them on that day. At about noon, one boy passed by the area donning a cardigan sweater stolen from the barber’s shop, the owner quickly recognised it and the wearer was challenged. After he was rough handled, he confessed he didn’t originally own it and so took the people to another person in the area, and he was also apprehended.”

Civil Defence operatives subsequently came and reportedly identified the gang leader as an unrepentant criminal who recently got released. The suspects are now in the custody of Civil Defence at their area command office at Takie.
Also Saturday, a thief was arrested at Alakasu area. Ogbomoso Insight was informed at the scene that the suspect was caught after stealing old roofing sheets, window frames and iron rods.
He was caught after he was accosted as he made to go away with the items.
He was thereafter whisked away by security agents from Sunsun Police Divisional Headquarters.
