The Skill Up the Teenagers Initiative successfully concluded a two-day vocational and digital literacy training program between October 28th and 29th, 2025, at Baptist Secondary Grammar School, BSGS, Ahoyaya, Ogbomoso.
The programme which aims at empowering the young ones had 70 student participants who were inculcated with practical skills for a productive future.
According to a press release each student had the opportunity to select a preferred area of interest, and the training covered four major skill areas — crocheting, graphic design, solar installation, and laptop repair.

The program was designed to complement classroom education with hands-on experience and to nurture self-reliant, skillful young minds, it was added.
Speaking on behalf of the school management, Mr. Oyewola A.O, a vice-principal, commended the initiative for its impactful contribution to education and youth development, describing it as a laudable effort that not only empowers students but also bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world application.
In her remarks, one of the participating students expressed heartfelt appreciation to the organizers, describing the training as “the first of its kind” in the school. She noted that the program provided an invaluable opportunity for students to explore their talents and gain practical exposure within a short but meaningful period.
