American President, Trump’s threat of military action on Nigeria for an alleged persecution of Christians is unfounded and lacks empirical evidence. Frankly speaking, such allegation cannot hold water for the fact that Nigeria is a secular state where freedom of religion is allowed. The three proclaimed religions in Nigeria are Islam, Christianity and traditional religion. The Nigerian government recognises the three and give them equal opportunities in national affairs such that holidays are declared for acclaimed festivals of each religion. To now say that Christians are being persecuted is far from the truth! To even show evidence of love for Christianity not quite long the wife of President Tinubu donated luxurious buses to some Christian churches in Nigeria! So many other such benefits are extended to the other faiths too. The Nigerian government has encouraged religion tolerance among people of different religions in Nigeria such that Nigeria cannot witness religion conflicts.

The government frowns against and does not breed it. For this, the American government should be educated, else he should provide evidence for his empty threat capable of being challenged at the International Court of Justice, Hague, if care is not taken. Trump should be warned!
