2 days after Gov Makinde promised rehabilitation of Ogbomoso inner roads, contractors move in

Construction engineers from Craneburg Construction Company Ltd and from the Oyo state Public Works and Transport stormed Ogbomoso Thursday to begin initial assessment and inspection of inner roads approved by the Oyo state governor Engr Seyi Makinde during his visit to Soun of Ogbomosoland His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III on Tuesday.

Governor Makinde unveiled 22 intracity roads in Ogbomoso North and South giving assurance work would commence latest six weeks from the date. He also named Craneburg and Kopek Construction Ltd. as the contactors to handle the projects.

The development generated excitement though some commentators were of the opinion that the governor had usurped the work of council chairmen.

Meanwhile, reports had emanated that practical steps are already being taken to actualize the promise.

According to a post by the chairman of Ogbomoso North local government, Hon George Ogunlade, engineers from one of the construction firm, Craneburg in company with engineers from the Oyo Public Works and Transport visited to carry out initial inspection.

The post on the chairman’s Facebook page states, “Kudos to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for his prompt approval of the inner road project! Just two days later, we’re already seeing tangible progress.”

He continues, “Today, we welcomed engineers from Oyo Public Works and Transport, along with representatives from Cranebourg Contract, for an initial road inspection,” adding, “This marks a significant step towards transforming our infrastructure and enhancing our community’s quality of life. We’re excited to work together to develop a comprehensive plan that ensures safer, more efficient roads for all. Thank you, Governor Seyi Makinde, for your leadership and vision!”
