The people of Ajaawa and all Ogo-Oluwa local government area of Oyo state trooped out en-mass to receive the Soun of Ogbomosoland His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III and his entourage to the town for his meeting with the people.

It is in continuation of the monarch’s familiarization tour of communities in Ogbomoso zone at which he shares his vision of 25 year-development plan and listens to questions. The engagement had held in three other local governments – Ogbomoso South, Ogbomoso North and Surulere. The Ogo-Oluwa local government’s is thus the fourth.

“Today’s meeting is unique and first of its kind in Ogo-Oluwa local government, for a Soun to come here for a visit.”

Alajaawa said Soun’s purpose of coming was to intimate the people of Ogo-Oluwa local government of his 25 year-development plan urging for cooperation and support.

“Today’s meeting is unique and first of its kind in Ogo-Oluwa local government, it’s unprecedented to receive a Soun. Soun has a dream, which is the 25 year-development plan. I charge us on cooperation with him, only with cooperation can we move forward in general. Let’s lift Ogbomosoland together, it’s our land. This is an Ogbomosoland thing. It is all our agenda and we must all work to realise this agenda.”

Alajaawa charged the people to disregard what he regarded as attachment to ancient histories, noting this brings backwardness.

“Let’s do away with old things like histories, ‘l am from Ife,’ ‘my crown originates from Ife,’ and so on. Let’s do away with these, they bring retrogression. Even the Bible preaches ‘Old things are passed everything becomes new.’ Let’s stop recounting these old histories, they foment conflicts and crises, let’s move forward. History truly is good but in contemporary time it doesn’t count beyond self adulation. We should be borne by new glories.”

Oba Oyetunji informed Ogo-Oluwa local government is the most backward in Ogbomoso zone, “no federal presence so let’s support Oba Ghandi for the overall development of Ogbomoso in general. We are all Ogbomosos. Kabiyesi has a lot of plans for the youths, many programmes. I plead for cooperation and support.”

The Asiwaju of Ajaawa Prince Ezekiel Olalere Ajiboye also in his speech described the occasion as historic and a great honour.

“Today marks an important and memorable day in the history of Ajaawa and the entire Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area, as we have the great honor of receiving His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Oladunni Olaoye Orumogege III, The Soun of Ogbomoso Land, on this august visit.”

Asiwaju Olalere said the achievements of Oba Olaoye made it look as if he had spent a decade on the throne.

“Kabiyesi, though only two years have passed since you ascended the throne of your forefathers, your reign has been so remarkable that one could easily think it has been a decade. Long may Your Majesty reign over Ogbomoso Land.”

He praised the hand of fellowship extended by the Soun to brother Obas especially to the Alajaawa of Ajaawa HRM Oba Thompson Adeyeye Oyetunji Olumole 11 while calling for collaboration and support Oba Ghandi for the development of Ajaawa and all Ogo-Oluwa local government.

“What is truly outstanding in your style of leadership is your love-love for the Obas of Ogbomoso and love for the people you serve. We particularly appreciate your warm embrace of, and friendly disposition toward, our own monarch, His Royal Majesty Oba Thompson Adeyeye Oyetunji Oladele Olumole II, the Alajaawa of Ajaawa, and towards the people of Ogo-Oluwa Local Government. This makes it most fitting that the Alajaawa-in-Council, traditional rulers, and dignitaries of Ogo-Oluwa stand together today to host Your Majesty in unity and joy.

“The Alajaawa of Ajaawa places the highest value on the spirit of solidarity among the monarchs of Ogbomoso and its surrounding Local Government Areas, under your respected and historical leadership as The Soun of Ogbomoso Land. Such solidarity not only strengthens our institutions but also guarantees peace, harmony, and growth for our people.

“We also commend Your Imperial Majesty for recognizing Ayede, in Ogo-Oluwa Local Government, as the rightful seat of the Federal Polytechnic. This recognition is not just a victory for justice but also a great blessing to our youths. However, for the Polytechnic to serve its intended purpose effectively, there must be a viable and durable road network to give students and staff easy access from every part of Ogbomoso and Ogo-Oluwa. We are confident that with your wisdom and commitment, and in partnership with the Alajaawa of Ajaawa, this need will soon be addressed.

“Kabiyesi, Ajaawa is proud of its long history as a market town, which earned the Alajaawa the title “Oloja” long before the Odo-Oba/Oja Oba market rose in the 1960s. To this day, the Ajaawa market continues to serve the entire Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area. In recognition of this role, land has already been set aside and surveyed for a new market site that can grow into an entrepreneurial hub. With Your Majesty’s cooperation and encouragement, this project can become a center of trade and innovation that benefits our people and beyond.

“In addition, Ajaawa has earmarked a suitable site for the proposed Ogbomoso II Area Command Offices of the Police and NSCDC. To further strengthen security, we urge that police stations be strategically established across the Local Government, particularly in Idewure and Iwo-Ate, for the safety and wellbeing of our citizens.

“Kabiyesi, Ajaawa has also prepared suitable structures for a proposed Magistrate Court. Establishing this court will ensure that justice is not remote from our responsible and hardworking citizens but brought closer to them where it can be accessed with ease.

“Lastly, Sir, while Ogo-Oluwa Local Government continues to generate revenue and contribute its quota, we are also mindful that the most critical resources for development lie with the State and Federal Governments. With Your Imperial Majesty’s goodwill and influence, we are confident that your indispensable support will be beneficial to Ajaawa and the entire Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area, helping us realize our full potential.

“In conclusion, Kabiyesi, we are not unaware of our own responsibilities. We therefore pledge our loyalty and readiness to respond positively whenever duty calls.”

The meeting continues, presently the Soun is addressing the crowd. ogbomosoinsightonline.com will keep you posted.
