Comfort Ogunbola Adeyemi Foundation gifts laptops, sewing machines, hairdryers others to skills trainees in Ogbomoso

Eight trainees from Ogo-Oluwa and Oriire local governments graduated from the Comfort Ogunbola Adeyemi Foundation (COAF)’s vocational and digital training programme at an event held Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the community hall, Opete in Ogo-Oluwa local government area of Ogbomoso, Oyo state.
The recipients included Oyegoke Odunola, Oladipo Sarah and Roseline Ojo (hairdressing), Sharon Adeoye and Leah Subuloye (tailoring) and Adesina Abidemi Maryam, Olaniyi Precious and Ajala Busayo (digital skills).

The programme was highlighted by the presentation of equipment (sewing machines, laptops, printers, hairdryers, washing basins, mirrors, trolleys among others) to the graduands, who underwent intensive training.

Speaking, Dr. Dorcas Adebayo, a member of the trustees of COAF and who represented the CEO of the Foundation Professor Adetoro Adeyemi Adegoke, expressed joy at the successful completion of the training and the graduation ceremony noting the organisation is committed to empowering the women especially, in the society.

Dr Dorcas recalled the Foundation in the past empowered 50 girls and women across four local government areas of Ogbomosoland through the provision of scholarships for girls in secondary schools and startup grants for women businesses while appealing to stakeholders to continue to partner COAF for continuous positive interventions in the society.
“Comfort Ogunbola Adeyemi Foundation is a non-political, non-religious and non-governmental organisation, which was established with one central vision and the vision is to advance human society that is easy for girls and women in accessing education, training and work,” Dr Dorcas said.

“Its intention is to empower individuals, strengthen families and uplift communities, through skills acquisition, education, economic empowerment and sustainable opportunities.”

She further enthused, “Today, we celebrate the first fruits of that vision after months of ploughing and nurturing. Our trainees in hairdressing, tailoring and digital skills are graduating; equipped, not just with skills but for self reliance, confidence and dignity.”

Stressing “empowerment is one of the core values of the organisation,” she added, “COAF remains committed to expanding this intervention to reach more young people, women and families, and ensure that skills acquisition translates into acquisition of employment, entrepreneurship and ultimately community development.”
Specifically, their interventions in Ogo-Oluwa and Oriire local governments areas, she further informed include but not limited to payment of WAEC fees, donation of textbooks, supporting the establishment of the school library, provision of business grants for women, training of girls and women in vocation and digital skills and provision of startup equipment.
Dr. Julius Ayobami Sonibare in his keynote address, implored that people should emulate the gesture of COAF, emphasizing that people should cultivate the habit of helping others for the society to grow.
Various speakers at the event held at Opete Town Hall thanked the foundation urging the graduands to make best use of the privilege and transform their lives in a productive way.

Dignitaries included the Olopete of Opete, HRH Oba Samuel Oluwatoye Bamigboye; Oloolo of Oolo, HRM Oba Michael Oyebunmi Ajayi JP (represented by the palace secretary Mr. Amunda Salihu Yusuff and Chief Ajala Ilufoye the Ikolaba of Oolo); Magistrate of the Magistrate Court Opete, Magistrate M.A. Ariyoosu; Olopete’s chiefs, and Baales of Sobiyan and Elepa.
Some other dignitaries were education stakeholders from Ogbomosoland including principals such as Deacon Adebimpe Taiwo, former Vice Principal, Community High School, Idi-Araba now Principal, Community High School, Iwo-Ate, and leaders of Nigeria Union of Teachers; religious, health and political leaders as well as security agents.
