The fundraising committee he leads as chairman and which has as secretary, Nurse Olufunke Ajagbe, along with other members including Professor Alice Jekayinfa, and respected elder Pa A.A. Their tireless efforts have ignited conversations, commitments, and concrete contributions toward the monumental goal of establishing Ogbomoso University, it is stated.

Conceived by Ogbomoso-born scholars, educators, and technocrats under the leadership of Professor Timothy Olagbemiro (former Vice Chancellor of Bowen University and Edwin Clark University), the university is envisioned as a multi-campus institution, with locations already secured in Aipo and Oolo (Oriire local government area), Opete (Ogo-Oluwa local government area), and other parts of the zone.
“This project is not just about education,” said Professor Adetunji. “It’s about our shared future, economic development, and ensuring every child, regardless of background, has access to higher education in an environment built on values, equity, and excellence.”
Despite its clear potential, the project demands substantial financial input—hence the inclusive fundraising drive. Encouragingly, the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
“People from all walks of life are coming together—across professions, beliefs, and generations. That is our strength,” added Nurse Ajagbe.
Even the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) is now mobilizing members to support the cause, recognizing the vital role the proposed university will play in strengthening the educational ecosystem, it is further said.
Meanwhile, a literature about the project has justified the drive for the institution and how individuals and groups can lend support. See content:
