Rotational chairmanship: Mogajis of Soun Dynasty laud Oyo Assembly for ‘traditional correctness’

The Mogajis of the Soun Ruling Houses of Ogbomoso have expressed gratitude to the Oyo State House of Assembly for what they described as its alignment with “traditional correctness.”
In a letter signed by the five Mogajis of the Soun Ruling Houses, Olawuyi Itabiyi, Sikiru Oyelami, Olawale Olaoye, Oyebamiji Oyedeji and Ilufoye Layode, Mogajis of Aburumaku, Gbagun, Laoye, Bolanta and Odunaro ruling houses respectively, they noted what the House passed into law was the correct thing to do, asserting the Assembly members had written their names in gold.
“We want to commend the Oyo State House of Assembly for the passing of the Bill on the Amendment of the Oyo State Chiefs Law. We are proud of them for their alignment with traditional correctness.
“Specifically, we want to thank the Speaker Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, for his effectiveness in leadership, we thank the Majority Leader Hon Sanjo Adedoyin, for the pivotal role he played in midwiving the process and we express appreciation to all House members. They have done the right thing, it’s traditionally correct.”
The Mogajis remarked the House was meticulous for factoring in historical antecedents of each community saying “Their decision was indepth historically. They have proved they are informed about historical developments, their decision is based on facts. They considered the contributions of each community to the evolution of the larger Yorubaland which we highlighted and they did well in being exhaustive in their deliberations. Their decision reflected contemporary historical developments, which is the right thing to do, they have immortalized themselves.”

They urged the House to disregard the various discordant views emanating from dissatisfied groups and individuals. “As long as you are on the path of truth and correctness, your action is justifiable you have no worries. We urge you to remain steadfast.”
